Self-limiting heating tapes
BACAB SA manufactures self-limiting heating tapes.
Self-limiting heating tapes adapt the heating power to the ambient temperature: as the ambient temperature increases, the heating power decreases and when the ambient temperature decreases, the heating power increases. This self- limitation takes effect at every point along the heating tape, over the entire length of the heating circuit. |
Standard types (heating power in W/m at 10 ºC/AC 230 V on the pipe in conformance to VDE 0254)
CT Comfort Trace
- self-limiting heating tape
- for protection against freezing in water pipes
the tapes can be installed inside or outside the pipes
- because of their narrow cross-sectional area the heating tapes
are particularly suited for installing on small diameter pipes

ST Smart Trace

- for protection against freezing in pipes for drinking or process water, feed pipes for raw materials, sprinkler installations
- protection against freezing in roofs and roof gutters
- the black TPE outer jacket ensures the required UV-resistance
- the ST Smart Trace has an additional layer (bonded jacket) connected to the heating element.
The bonded jacket increases the electrical insulation effect and also protects against moisture.
